Hawkes Bay 0800 Sunshade wins Highly Commended award on shade sail installation

The last weekend of July the members of the Outdoor Fabrics Association of New Zealand (OFPANZ) convened in Auckland for their annual conference and biennial trade show. The annual Awards for Excellence winners were announced on Sunday night at Five Knots restaurant.

Hawke’s Bay’s 0800 Sunshade licensee, Mark Hannan, was awarded a highly commended award for the Shade Sails he installed at Te Awa School.

The purpose of the shade sail was to provide shade over the school playground with lots of colour. The school requested to have four different coloured shade sails. Given the size of the space, Mark determined it was not big enough to warrant four separate shade sails, so he requested that the 0800 Sunshade Ltd fabricators instead use two different colours in each sail.

The result: a very happy customer and a stunning installation.

Mark has been a licensee for 0800 Sunshade since April 2003 and has worked with preschools, kindys, schools, councils, home owners and businesses to provide year round weather and sun protection. Mark has previously won awards from OFPANZ including Best Commercial Shade Structure category three years in a row (2012-2014) and Best Blinds & Screens in 2010. Our other licensees throughout the country have also won awards from the OFPANZ show.
