0800 Sunshade

Once again 0800 Sunshade walked away with one of 11 OFPANZ Awards of Excellence at our industry’s annual Conference in June, this time for some great clear screens.

Every year our industry body OFPANZ recognizes special projects with the OFPANZ Awards of Excellence at a gala dinner during the annual industry conference. This year’s competition attracted a record 68 entries across 11 categories – all of them exemplifying the very high standards by some of our industry colleagues. 0800 Sunshade won the Blinds & Screens Category

The ‘Problem’

The client had recently built this luxurious home on the slopes of Te Mata Peak in Havelock North, with wonderful views across the Heretaunga plains. They love entertaining in their spacious outdoor area; however this was frequently restricted by chilly southerly breezes.  Enclosure with unobtrusive screens was required.

The Solution

Using the unique Ziptrak® spring-loaded and track-guided blind system, we installed 2 very large clear PVC screens across the front of the entertainment area. The western side of this area was closed using a mesh PVC to shield from the setting sun.

All of the aluminium componentry associated with Ziptrak® was powder-coated to blend in with the plaster-finish of the house.

The Ziptrak® system was recommended and used for its ease of operation and elegant look - you merely unclip the bottom, then slide the screen up and out of the way.  And as the sides are locked into the guide channel, you maintain a tensioned look and do not have breezes sneeking around the edges. Total convenience and excellent appearance.

 The Outcome

The screens fully achieved the objective – keeping out the weather yet maintaining the view. And when not required they conveniently roll out of sight.

The customer was extremely happy with the screens and the protection that they provid for their outdoor living area, so much so that they ordered similar curtains for their local business.
